01 / YOUR WRITING

Start with your draft.

Include only text you want counted. Separate paragraphs with a blank line. Keep a copy in your own document.

How the counts work

Groups of Unicode letters or numbers count as words; an internal apostrophe or hyphen keeps a group together. Punctuation and emoji alone do not count. This is an English-style counter, so a continuous unspaced script counts as one group. Paragraphs are separated by blank lines; a single line break is not a new paragraph. Your submission platform may count differently.

Characters include spaces and line breaks. The draft box accepts up to 100,000 text characters as measured by the browser.

03 / YOUR JUDGEMENT

Look for the meaning.

Mark a prompt when you have considered it. Point to a sentence or write the change you want to make. These checks record your review; they are not a quality score.

01 Context

Can a reader understand the situation and why it mattered to you?

02 Decision

Have you shown a choice you made, rather than only describing a feeling?

03 Action

What did you actually do, and where does the draft show it?

04 Learning

What changed in your thinking or behaviour, and what remains difficult?

04 / KEEP YOUR NEXT STEP

KEEP THE PROCESS YOURS

Count first. Read again.

A draft inside a word limit still needs to answer the prompt. Read for a specific experience, a clear decision and an honest account of learning. The revision method helps you choose one change at a time.
